The National Flag Day Foundation has determined that there will not be a National Flag Day Foundation organized program, parade, family day, or other activities at the Americanism Center on June 14, 2020.  While this was an extremely difficult decision, it is the right decision and sometimes doing what is right is not easy.

While the formal National Flag Day Foundation observance will not be taking place, we encourage you to observe what the flag means to you on her birthday.  We would like to emphasize that Flag Day, a national holiday, will remain even though the National Flag Day Foundation will not be observing it in the traditional manner.  The National Flag Day Foundation will be presenting an online program honoring all active military, veterans, and the American Flag.  We encourage you to observe Flag Day with the people that you love.

It is a long-standing tradition of the National Flag Day Foundation to honor a group of outstanding Americans each year, and we are so excited to see everyone in person at Flag Day 2021 when we will be honoring those that honor our veterans—Honor Flight Network Volunteers.

This year’s Flag Day program will be available on the National Flag Foundation Facebook page, website, youtube, and other online sources on June 14, 2020.  More information will be available here as we get closer to June 14. We look forward to seeing everyone in person for Flag Day 2021! Until then, this great country will persevere as it has so many times before.

Stay safe, God Bless America, and God Bless You,

The National Flag Day Foundation

Honoring Those that Honor our Veterans

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that honors America’s veterans for all the sacrifices they have made for our great country.  They do this by flying these heroes to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials of the respective war they fought in and receive a day of highest military honors at no cost to the veterans.  Wisconsin has five Honor Flight Hubs that are part of the Network: Badger Honor Flight (Madison, WI), Freedom Honor Flight (La Crosse, WI), Never Forgotten Honor Flight (Wausau, WI), Old Glory Honor Flight (Appleton, WI), and Stars & Stripes Honor Flight (Port Washington, WI).  The volunteers at these hubs work tireless to ensure that these veterans are able to receive the honor that they are so deserving of, and The National Flag Day Foundation is so excited to honor these volunteers at our event this year.

Thank you for making our 2020 Flag Day Valentine Dinner Auction a success! Without the support of people like you, we would not be able to do what we do!

We look forward to seeing you for Valentine's Day 2021! For more information or if you wish to attend, please contact David Janik at (262) 483-6078.
